Western Tea Business Association

Dear Western Tea Business Association Members:

The 2009 World Tea Expo will offer the most innovative and extensive conference program to
date. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist with this program. Volunteering is an
excellent way to network and become more involved, especially if this is your first time attending
the show. We only have a limited number of volunteer opportunities available – SIGN UP TODAY!

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING CONFERENCE PROGRAMS:
Focused Tastings
These special tasting sessions focus on a specific tea region or type and will allow attendees to
experience the unique flavors and learn about the history, manufacture, and special story behind
each tea.
Volunteers will be responsible for:
• Room & Table Set-Up
• Tea Preparation, Brewing & Serving
• Room & Table Cleanup

Super Workshops
The three Super Workshops that will need volunteers are all tea and food sessions. One will be
Chocolate & Tea, focusing more on the chocolate. Tea & Chocolate will focus on the tea. And
finally Small Finger Sandwiches will show attendees how to make creative fun tea sandwiches.
Volunteers will be responsible for:
• Room & Table Set-Up
• Tea Preparation, Brewing & Serving
• Room & Table Cleanup

Skill Building Workshops
This year we will have a total of five 3-hour Skill Building Workshops and three 1-hour Skill
Building Workshops. These are hands-on, small group, in-depth workshops to allow buyers and
professionals to learn the basics and hone their skills in Cupping, Blending, or Brewing & Serving.
Volunteers will be responsible for:
• Room & Table Set-Up
• Tea Preparation, Brewing & Serving
• Room & Table Cleanup

AS A VOLUNTEER YOU WILL RECEIVE:
• FREE 3 Day Exhibit Hall Pass – up to a $30 Value!

• FREE full set of Conference Recordings – a $250 Value!
• 1 FREE World Tea Webinar - $49 Value!
*Your 4 free sessions that you attend can not include Skill Building Workshops, Focused Tasting, ETS, or
Super Workshops – these sessions all have limited capacities.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING, PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW:

STEP 1: READ THE VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT
• Volunteers must have a general knowledge of tea preparation, brewing & serving.
• Volunteers must commit to a total of (2) volunteer sessions (see page 3) throughout the
entire expo (May 2-4).
• The volunteer times on page 2 reflect 1-hour of prep time before the start of the session
and 30 minutes of clean up time after the session.
• Once your volunteer time is scheduled, it is very important that you follow through with
your committed hours. If you cannot fulfill your scheduled hours, please contact us
ASAP.
• All Volunteers must sign a ‘Volunteer Log’ upon check-in and check-out of your
scheduled volunteer hours.

STEP 2: DECIDE ON YOUR VOLUNTEER HOURS
• Fill out and fax back page 3 with the times you would like to volunteer.

STEP 3: WTE REGISTRATION
• After you’ve faxed back page 3, if you’ve already registered and need to have your
volunteer credit applied to your registration OR if you need to still register, please contact
Vanessa Kelly, WTE Registration Manager at 702-253-1893.

STEP 4: VOLUNTEER CONFIRMATION & EXPO REGISTRATION CREDENTIALS
• You will receive a Volunteer Confirmation and your Expo registration credentials prior to
the show if you register prior to April 3, 2009. If you register after this date your Volunteer
Confirmation will be emailed to you, but you will have to pick up your registration
credentials onsite.

STEP 5: VOLUNTEER AND HAVE FUN
• Show up at your scheduled time and introduce yourself to the session contact, which will
be in your Volunteer Confirmation. The session contact in most cases will be the
Speaker, with the exception of the Focused Tastings. At this time you will receive
